Mr. Oslund earned a BA in history from the University
of Wyoming, a Juris Doctor from the University of Denver College of
Law, and teaching credentials from Colorado State University. After
college, he served in the US Army as a helicopter pilot in the Vietnam
conflict. Upon graduation from law school he entered the general, civil
practice of law in Denver, He has taught at Ouray School for a total
of seventeen years. He also taught at Greenfields Country Day School
in Tucson for six years (during one of which he acted as Head of the
Middle School) and spent a year teaching at the San Xavier Mission School
on the Tohono O'odham reservation south of Tucson. He has taught everything
from fifth grade to twelfth; social studies, English, and technology.
He also currently teaches Consumer Law, US History, and dual-credit
US History (with CU-Denver) online with Colorado Online Learning. His
wife Janet is head of children's services at the Montrose Public Library.
He has two grown sons, Jason and Geoff. His dog, Nuala, sleeps at his
feet in the evenings.
